What Participants Say
These are lightly edited accounts from people who have attended sessions or used our materials in the past year.

I had three pension-related documents in a drawer that I genuinely did not understand. The Starter Session helped me figure out what they were, what they connected to, and how to organise them properly. Nothing was oversimplified but nothing was rushed either. I left feeling like I finally had a handle on something I had been putting off for years.

My company used the Workplace Programme for our annual HR day. The materials were genuinely well written — not the usual leaflets. Our staff actually engaged with it. The facilitator setup session was straightforward and we have now run the content twice with different departments. Good investment for what we spent.

We used the Family Conversation Guide with my parents and siblings. My mother is 68 and we had never really sat down to talk about what arrangements she had in place. The guide gave us a structure that made the conversation feel less fraught. It is not a dramatic transformation — it is just a sensible tool that helped us talk about something important.

I was uncertain what I was getting into before the session, but it was genuinely calm and low pressure. The facilitator did not push anything, did not try to sell me anything, and explained things clearly when I asked twice. The template I took home has stayed on my desk. Simple and useful.

The Family Guide was a good starting point. I did feel there was slightly more content than we needed for our specific situation, but the structure helped us stay on track. We used about two thirds of it and that was enough. Would still recommend it for families who want something to hold the conversation together.

We specifically wanted something that did not feel like a financial product pitch. The Workplace Programme delivered exactly that. Staff were engaged in a way they had not been before with benefit communications. We have already scheduled a second delivery for our newer hires in July.

Stories in Detail
Participant Journeys
Three detailed accounts of what participants brought to Goldyear and what they took away.
The Situation
Documents but no clarity
A 52-year-old educator approaching retirement had collected pension-related correspondence over two decades but had never systematically reviewed what she held. She was uncertain which fund was still active, whether her contributions were complete, and what her family would need to know.
The Session
A 90-minute Starter Session
Working through the documents together, the session identified which were active, which were historical records, and which required follow-up with her employer. She left with a completed personal record template and a short list of questions for her HR department — written in plain language.
The Outcome
Clarity and a clear next step
She followed up with HR the following week using the questions we helped her formulate. Three of the four queries were resolved within a fortnight. She described the session as the first time she had felt on top of the situation rather than behind it.
"I had the documents. I just needed someone to help me read the situation, not to tell me what to do."
The Situation
A family avoiding the subject
An adult daughter in her 40s wanted to have a conversation with her parents (both in their late 60s) about their financial arrangements and plans. Every previous attempt had felt intrusive or led to deflection. The subject was important but consistently deferred.
The Guide
Family Conversation Guide with walkthrough
The family used the guide in two sittings, with a short walkthrough session beforehand to understand the structure. The prompts gave everyone something to respond to rather than someone having to lead the conversation alone.
The Outcome
A conversation that finally happened
The family completed the guide over two sessions at home. Several arrangements that had never been documented were noted for the first time. The daughter reported that the guide removed the personal dynamic from the conversation — it became about answering questions, not confronting each other.
"Having something external to refer to changed everything. It was the guide asking, not us."
The Situation
An employer looking for something substantive
A hotel group in Phuket with 180 staff wanted to improve staff understanding of their provident fund and workplace pension contributions. Previous attempts using standard HR materials had low engagement. They wanted something that staff would actually read and remember.
The Programme
Workplace Information Programme over two cohorts
The programme was adapted to the employer's specific benefit structure. The HR team received a setup session and then delivered the content to staff in two separate half-day blocks. The reusable materials meant no return engagement was needed for the second cohort.
The Outcome
Higher engagement, reusable asset
Staff feedback forms rated comprehension of provident fund structure at 78% post-session versus 31% pre-session. The HR team now delivers the programme independently to new cohorts without external input. The initial investment covered three separate delivery rounds.
"We finally have something we can deliver ourselves, in our language, that does not feel like a brochure."
